Day 001:

Today is 24th of August 2011, Wednesday … it’s a day of spontaneous events. Here’s what happened:

  • I woke up early but got a little anxious because I left the house late. Anyway, I still managed to reach work 5 minutes before my official time, 8.00 am.
  • I’m happy that we didn’t have TED Academic Council meeting so I had a chance to re-visit wordpress.com and refreshed my memory of blogging. Unfortunately, my old blog has expired because well my web-hosting subscription expired a year ago. I didn’t renew that one because I couldn’t afford it anymore. So I got a new blog and I’m using it now!
  • It’s fun choosing themes for the blog. I chose the simple layout.
  • The DLS staff had a luncheon meeting. It was like hitting two birds with one stone because it was also a celebration of Ms. Melba Susada’s birthday. Happy birthday, maam Melba!
  • Mr. Bernard Beduya, my colleague at Philippine Science High School came to PWC for his MIS homework. I was glad to help him with his homework. So I toured him around PWC as I gave him an overview of our school.
  • Then Janice SMSed me if I am free to go malling after work… something which I happily welcomed. So when the clock stroked 5, I ejected myself from the office, ignored the drizzle and went to meet Janice. We decided to go to Abreeza Mall. It was quite far, but it’s an opportunity to explore a new place. This was only my 2nd time in Abreeza since it opened last May. We wandered around until our feet hurt and had our dinner at McDonalds before going home. It was fun bonding with Janice and also a wonderful way to cap the day.
  • On our way home, we took a taxi which is “moonlighting “… (well, by moonlighting I mean that the taxi took 5 passengers all going to Toril at 35.00 per head, instead of the usual taxi passenger arrangement). It was my first time to take such ride. There were advantages and disadvantages — the advantages were: first, there were only 5 passengers and all are going in the same destination, so there was no frequent loading and unloading of passengers. Second, we get to pass at routes where traffic is not heavy. The disadvantage was that it was not safe, the driver was quite reckless.
  • I made a note to myself to learn Joomla… so I just finished downloading the software and starting tomorrow, I shall spend 2 hours a day learning to create a dynamic webpage!
  • Last but not the least, I’m writing this blog at 11pm …. and I’m happy!
